Adeys – Grocers on the corner of Hyde End Road/The Square
The land that makes up Tall Trees, along with Sheraton House, and another chalet bungalow, originally covered the corner of Hyde End Road and The Square, and on it sat a small shop. At one point known as “Adeys” it was a baker, confectioner and grocer. A number of people remember “Adeys” and have told us memories regarding their experiences of the store – we have attempted to retell them in village books.
In 2013 upon when the inhabitant of Tall Trees sadly died, these receipts were found, showing it’s illustrious history.
